Hand-Painted Christmas Balls
Process
Our hand-painted Christmas balls start out as brown craft paper balls which we buy from a craft supply store. Next, we prime them with white acrylic. Each ball gets two coats of white acrylic. After the base layer is down, the background is put in. For the mountain and tree landscapes, this is a sky layer. Next the middle ground is added in, for the mountain and tree landscapes, this is the mountain ranges. Lastly, the foreground is added. Trees start out as a trunk and have their branches built up on top with snow or decorations being added at the end. Pearlescent white is mixed in with the cloud and snow tones to give extra shine.
